THE LIGHTHOUSE

Set right in the middle of Southwold, well almost. As you can see it is in the middle of quite a few residential houses.Such a strange situation. It looks great! You can also visit it inside in season.

SOUTHWOLD THE PERFECT RETREAT

If you are looking for a place to retreat from the hectic and busy city life or just to get away and find peace. This is the place. It has everything you could wish for. It is simple, old fashioned yet stylish. It has a calmness about it that I have not found in any other seaside town. Even in the height of summer you can find havens of calm in the back streets. The shops are all individual and unique, no large chains. There are many art galleries and you will find inspiration everwhere. The people are friendly and polite. With many good places to eat and to stay it is the ideal seaside break.BUT DONT TELL ANYONE ELSE!!

THE AMAZING SOUTHWOLD BEACH HUTS

The beach huts in Southwold are amazing. Each individually coloured and named. Many have a theme. Some of these huts are passed down from generation to generation. If you want to buy one you will have a long wait. You will also need at least £50,000 to buy one!! However they are free to look at. Most of the owners are so proud of them that you can easily see inside as they proudly leave the doors open.

DOORS OF SOUTHWOLD

THE SHOPS

There are a variety of shops in Southwold. One of the best deli's is Nutters which is known worldwide. It stocks delicious jams, chutneys, chocolate, cheese and much more.

THE BEACH

Miles of golden sand and lovely pebbles.

The Fishermans Quay

The quay is amazing. It is quite untouched and many of the fishermans huts are either ramshakle or just realy old. But somehow it works and the whole area is like a place that time stood still in. Great fish and chips too. Daily fresh caught fish. There is a great pub at the end of the quay where you can eat lovely food and enjoy either views of the quay or the reed beds at the back.
